ISUS2018 is dedicated to providing an enjoyable and fulfilling conference experience for everyone. Accordingly, all attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to other attendees throughout the conference and at all conference events. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, age, religion
Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
Inappropriate physical contact
Unwelcome sexual attention
Harassing photography or recording
Sustained disruption of talks or other events
Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour
If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, event organisers retain the right to take any actions to keep the event a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the conference. We may take action to redress anything designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting the event or making the environment hostile for any participants.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact Michael Schefczyk or Sina Schmitt immediately. You can find their telephone numbers in the printed booklet.
We will be happy to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We will handle the incidence with full discretion.
